Hi, I live at 19859 Military Rd in Monticello, Iowa.
My daughter said that one of her friends mother said that the family that died in the blizzard died on our property. Is this true? I was under the impression they died closer to Langworthy. There are two old homesteads still on Military Rd. One in near our home and the other is on the other end of Military Rd closer to Langworthy. Are either of them this families homestead? Our home is the first house on the right when turning on Military Rd off the lower Prairieburg hwy. These old homesteads have always sparked interest in me and any information would be appreciated. A older gentleman had told us quite a few years ago that there was interest in putting up a sign to mark our road but no one ever contacted us to see if such a sign or monument could be placed on our property. Thank You for any information you can give me.
