Here is a photo of Lyman’s Dillon’s Tombstone we were able to find in the Cascade Iowa Protestant section of the town cemetary. Here is a note from a previous post describing what we found:
Tonight we went to the Cascade Protestant Cemetary to attempt to locate the gravestone of one of Lyman Dillon’s daughters Lyma Dillon Parrott who was said to be buried there….after looking around for 15 minutes we hit paydirt! We found Lyma’s marker right next to her dad Lyman’s as well as Charlotte’s (Lyman’s wife) as well as the tomb stones of Charlotte’s mother and father Alvin and Elizabeth Winchell.
In case someone is interested in finding this again at a later date…here is where it is located as of 7/17/07: If you enter the Cascade Cemetary from the South entrance, (first entrance as you come up the hill just off of old hwy 151 and turn right) the tombstones are located on the western side of the cemetary at the top of the hill. Very easy to read . It appears this was a family plot because Charlotte (Lyman’s wife) is right next to Lyman’s and also those of her family (her mother and Father Alvin and Elizabeth Winchell).
